Essay Prize – Eversheds O’Donnell Sweeney

UPDATE: Congratulations to Donna Lyons, who is the winner of the 2008 Essay Prize, sponsored by Eversheds O’Donnell Sweeney, for her essay “Justifying Law as Integrity – Dworkin’s Justify/’Best Light’ Thesis Examined”. Ms Lyons is a graduate of School of Law, Trinity College Dublin and is currently undertaking a taught masters at New York University.

With the generous support of Eversheds O’Donnell Sweeney, the Irish Jurisprudence Society (IJS) is offering a prize of €500 for student essays in jurisprudence, legal theory or legal philosophy.
All undergraduate students in Ireland and Northern Ireland, as well as students who obtained their undergraduate degree in the past 12 months, are eligible for the prize. The essay must be between 2,500 and 5,000 words (including footnotes).
The essay must be submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 30 November 2008. All submissions will be acknowledged. The winning essay will be chosen on an anonymous basis by a panel of external assessors. The winner will be announced in early 2009.
